Day 5: Taronga Zoo, continued

There are areas in the zoo where you can get close enough to touch the kangaroos (and staff there to make sure neither party is harmed), and where some animals roam freely, such as the emus.

We spent about 20 minutes watching an elephant work on tearing down a tree limb, finally successfully, sharing out the fresh leaves with her friends and baby.

As the sun set on this cloudy day, we stopped to take some photos in the fading light with Sydney behind us — the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House making our location obvious.
